The Professional Services division

Professional Services provides a full turnkey solution to both OEM’s and Operators, from equipment installation and commissioning to maintenance, repairs and reverse logistics and to spare parts and warehouse management.  

Once commissioned, we will provide the back-up service and routine maintenance to keep the equipment functioning at optimal efficiency, including doing the repairs and conducting performance reviews.

The Professional Services division employs highly qualified and experienced Engineers, Technicians and field specialist who are skilled in core telecommunication technologies across dominant brands in the global industry.

Scope of the Professional Services

Technical Site Survey
The survey teams can visit site and proved site layouts and detailed technical reports with site drawings which smoothens the plans for the equipment installations.

Equipment Installations and Commissioning
Equipment which is acquired from a supplier with no direct local support can be installed, commissioned and maintained by Molapo. We are able to provide independent reports on performance levels because of our international affiliations. This also encompasses quality assurance on “brought in” and existing equipment and the review of documents such as Maintenance and operating manuals.

On site Repair Services
Molapo can provide field service repair services on certain equipment. Having a support service that know your machines and are in country based can save an operator the cost as well as the lost revenue due to long break-downs or waiting on overseas OEMs to send an engineer. The teams are also capable of repairing vandalized

Routine Maintenance
The same technical teams that do the installations and commissioning is also used to ensure sites and equipment runs at its optimal effectiveness by providing routine services to sites and provides the schedules to ensure that routine maintenance is performed at the correct prescribed intervals.

 

Reverse Logistics Management
The receiving, handling and repair of faulty stock is a very specialized process which requires very specific skill sets. Often faulty stock is dumped at a receiving warehouse and it is then left up to the stores personnel to try and identify the card and manage the repair process. This results in items being scrapped because they could not be identified, sent to the wrong OEM and also leaves the way for huge abuse of repair charges because the stores personnel are not qualified to identify whether a specific repair was necessary or whether it was a repair that should have been covered by a warrantied fault.

Molapo’s reverse logistic services offers, amongst others, the following high level services:

  • Product identification and cataloguing
  • Repair identification and costing
  • OEM management
  • Warranty repair tracking and reviewing
  • Item tracking and tracing through all areas of the repair process
  • Warehousing, labeling and packaging of buffer stock
  • Transportation of repaired stock to satellite stock stations
  • The management of the stock levels at critical points throughout the organization.

 

     Spare Parts Management, Warehousing & Distribution

Molapo has warehouses in 8 major cities in South Africa viz Centurion (JHB/PTA), Polokwane, Nelspruit, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein, Cape Town and Durban offering on average over 1000M3 of available storage space per site. The warehouses are manned with specialized technical and logistics staff. Product is received, checked, verified, repackaged where required, stored or routed to site. All inventory is managed through our Baan ERP system and the warehouses are accessible on 24/7, 365 basis.
